Garment Care Instructions
Gill apparel is designed to withstand the tough life and environment of the boating world. However, like any clothing, it will last longer when cared for properly.
Please read the garment care instructions inside the garment before washing.
General Care-
DO rinse out your waterproof clothing regularly in fresh water. Work all zippers, pop studs and snaps to remove any salt residue.
DO dry air-dry clothing.
DO store dried garments loosely folded or hung up.
DON'T leave garments salty or damp. This encourages mildew to form, which is difficult to wash out and
speeds up premature deterioration of the clothing.
DON'T use dryer heat to dry garments.
General Washing Instructions-
DO hand wash in lukewarm water.
DO use a mild detergent such as Woolite.
DON'T use detergents containing additives or bleach.
DO rub heavy stains gently with a concentrated soap solution and rinse
thoroughly with fresh water.
DO drip dry only.
DON'T iron.
DON'T spin or tumble dry.
DON'T place near heaters, open flames or fires.
DON'T dry clean.
DON'T bleach.
Following these care instructions will maintain the performance and life of your Gill gear!
Waterproof Repairs-
You will need: Glue (urethane repair adhesive and sealant)
Make sure the suit is clean and dry, and the damaged area is free from salt, grease, mud and any contaminants. For small tears a patch glued into place on the inside of the suit is sufficient. Larger tears will require a patch glued into place on the outside of the garment .If necessary, a second patch may be glued inside the repair to cover the stitches. If the garment is lined turn the garment inside out. Trouser linings may be released at the bottom of the leg, or at the top of the zip gusset.
